Getting started
The account
- You create an account with an email address and a password (at least 8 characters). The password is never kept in plain text.
- During the beta, the password can't be changed yet: write it down carefully.
- When signing up, you can say the account is for a child (see Child mode).
- "Stay signed in" saves you typing your password again on this device.
Servers
- After signing in, you choose a server. Each server is a complete, independent world, with the three realms.
- The same account can play on every server.
- Some servers have a theme: the names of the realms, of non-player characters and of some items change there. The rules and numbers are the same everywhere. By default, the realms are called Red, Blue and Yellow.
The realm
- The realm is chosen with the first character created on a server, and it is locked for ever for this account on this server: all your characters on that server will be of the same realm.
- To play another realm, you have to go to another server.
- Each realm has its own map, closed to the others. The three realms meet in the War of the Realms zone.
Characters
- 3 characters per account and per server, of the class of your choice (several of the same class is possible).
- The class is final.
- Name: 3 to 16 letters, from A to Z, without accents, digits or spaces. It must be unique; rude names or names imitating the game's team are refused.
- Appearance: three colours of your choice (head, outfit, skin), with an animated preview. Your realm shows in the colour of your name above your head, not in your clothes.
- Deleting a character asks you to type its name again: it is final.
First steps
- You appear in the town of your realm's starting valley. The merchant, the trainer and the ferryman are close by.
- Your character has its starting weapon. Monster names are coloured by how hard they are for you (see Levels and experience): start with yellow, blue and green.
- Click a monster to target it, then start the auto attack (key 1) and your spells (keys 2 and up).
- Pick up the loot, sell what you don't need to the merchant, equip the rest.
- At each level, the trainer waits for you to spend your specialisation points and unlock new spells (see Skills and trainer).
- Around level 10, leave the valley by a ford to the north: each region has its outpost and its ferryman (see Maps and travel). Remember to bind yourself to the ferryman of the region where you hunt.
- When you feel ready, the ferryman takes you to the War of the Realms.
