Skills and trainer
Your class is fixed, but everyone plays it their own way: a Monk can be a healer, a fire mage or a master of sleep, a Warrior a hitter or a protector.
Specialisation lines
- Each class has three lines: Weapons, Shield and Shouts for the Warrior; Bow, Survival and Shadow for the Archer; Light, Fire and Spirit for the Monk. Their spells are in The classes.
- With each level gained, you get specialisation points to spend (how many depends on the class and grows with level).
- Raising a line by one rank costs as many points as the rank aimed for: going from rank 9 to rank 10 costs 10 points. A line never goes above the character's level.
- You can't raise everything: you have to choose between going far in one line or staying versatile.
- Each line unlocks its spells at given ranks. A spell's power follows its line's rank: full power when the rank equals your level. Some durations keep growing up to rank 100.
- A few spells belong to the whole class and come with level (the Warrior's Charge, the Monk's Resurrection and Purification).
The trainer
- He is in town, near the merchant. Talk to him with a click or with the E key.
- Specialisation tab: raise your lines, see what each rank unlocks. Each choice is saved right away.
- Free respec at levels 20 and 40: all lines go back to rank 1 and the points are given back, to spend them differently.
- Realm tab: realm skills, bought with the points earned in the War of the Realms (see The War of the Realms).
The action bar
It follows your character's spells: up to 8 spells, on keys 2 to 9 by default (changeable in the Settings). Passive spells have no button: they work all the time.
